Auto-Mate Dealer Management Systems (Pty) Limited provides world class computerised management and data services to the South African automotive industry. Auto-Mate provides systems and services to meet the specific requirements of its users and to enable motor dealerships to operate more effectively, efficiently and profitably. Auto-Mate offers it software on a hosted (ASP) model as well as an installed software.

Auto-Mate has offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and also has representation in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Ghana, Swaziland, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UK.

The Auto-Mate fully integrated software application is developed, distributed and supported by the company and includes all computerised aspects pertaining to managing a motor dealership. These include customer prospecting and marketing, vehicle sales, parts inventory management, vehicle service management and financial management.

Progress Software (supplier to Auto-Mate of its 4GL software development and database tools) has twice awarded Auto-Mate the Top Revenue Earner Award (in 2000 and 2001); the Award for Industry Sector Excellence (in 2002) and the Top Revenue Earner and Partner of the Year Award (in 2003).

The company has a user base of more than 800 dealerships representing about 9 000 individual users. These range from small dealerships to large multi-site dealer groups. The software is a very highly regarded Motor Dealer Management System in South Africa and is endorsed by most of the leading global car manufacturers, such as Toyota, Ford, Mazda, SsangYong, Delta (General Motors), Nissan, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Daewoo, Land Rover, Hyundai, Iveco, Volvo, Volkswagen, Kia, Renault, Daihatsu and Mitsubishi.

Auto-Mate Evolve
As part of our vision to become the global market leader in our industry and to provide our customers with the best dealer management solution, we will launch and upgraded version of our platform in February 2011. This will be called Auto-Mate Evolve.

As with with our existing platform, Auto-Mate V3x, Auto-Mate Evolve is built around the General Ledger, providing stability and internal control in terms of accounting, however, there are a number of additional enhancements that will deliver all requirements from a dealership and management perspective as well as an unparalleled user experience. The key benefit of this new system is the customer management and marketing functionality and it’s seamless integration into the backend system and database. This means a single customer record stored in the database being utilized throughout the entire system.

From a system architecture perspective, the Auto-Mate Evolve platform is built on a framework in which there is a single server handling all processes and data storage requirements as well as a “thin client” on the local machine. It also remains a live database which means all transactions, once captured and saved, will be available for immediate online, real-time reporting, searches and enquiries. This results in a number of additional benefits for our clients and end users.
